3PM Slump!

You know when the clock is inching it's digital numbers or analog hands close to the 3PM hour and your eyelids begin to get heavy? What is that all about? I once heard that it's because our physical and mental bodies are not created to remain awake for as long as they do during the day. The Spanish have it right: a siesta in the middle of the day makes up for this exhaustion that we feel at this hour. We are SUPPOSED to nap during the day. It keeps our mind alert for the rest of the daytime and re-charges our system.

Coffee and caffeine don't do anything for my nerves, body, system to keep me up and keep me alert. If anything, it burns a hole in my esophagus and stomach lining, and that pain keeps me in the tired-state. I also can't eat nuts or my stomach is also in excruciating pain. Reason why I brought both these foods up is because generally people drink some coffee to wake them up or have some nuts for a quick protein-fix in the middle of the day.

So, what is a girl to do when the clock strikes 3PM? What do you do to help yourself stay awake/alert/alive?
